Belle is a 16 lbs (but very overweight) Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. This girl is a hoot! Belle is only a couple of years old. She came to MHCR after she gave birth to a litter of pups in Texas and wasn’t interested in being much of a mom…..who can blame her? She’s but a pup herself!
Belle is a busy girl. She loves exploring, taking car rides, cuddling, and most of all she loves hunting birds! She is super smart, stubborn, very food motivated, and while I’d love to say eager to please, the truth is she just doesn’t care that much if you’re pleased with her or not. Belle just finished up her heartworm treatment and she’s loving being able to be active again. Belle is not a loud girl and she’d likely do well in an apartment or single-family home. Though she has an intense love of children (literally can’t get enough), we feel she’s best suited without them in a home due to her tendency to resource guard a bit. If you’re looking for a snuggle AND adventure buddy, she’s your girl!
Belle is available for foster or adoption. To apply to foster her, please visit: https://www.milehighcanine.org/foster/
