Please meet Blanche! This long-legged, wirey-haired, beauty queen is about a year old and around 6 lbs. She LIVES for human affection and has an adorable little dance and grin that she shows off when she gets it. Snuggling is the name of her game. She’s down for any TV binge session and at night time she burrows under the covers to keep snug as a bug in a rug next to her human. This is non-negotiable. Blanche loves having a yard and small, canine play friends. She isn’t a fan of the giant breeds in her foster home but she tolerates them well. She was adopted as a puppy and recently returned because life in the city in an apartment just wasn’t for her – it was scary. She will thrive in a quieter home with another small, playful, dog and a fenced in yard. Despite her love of snuggle time, she’s quite active and can often be found sprinting around the yard. She is chicken friendly and actually fancies herself quite a mouser in the coop.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
