Candy Cane's Story

Candy Cane is his name (although he goes by Gator now), is a handsome boy that joined MHCR from Aztec, NM with his mom, Poinsettia. Poinsettia is approx 50 lbs. Candy Cane is approx 14 weeks old now and becoming quite a dapper young man. He’s learning all about home living and mastered the doggie door in just a few days. He’s inquisitive, playful, and great with other dogs. We estimate his adult weight to be 50-60 lbs.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
