Meet Dawn! Dawn is calm, gentle, and a total couch potato. This little cutie weighs 10 pounds and is about 5 years old. Dawn joined MHCR as part of a large surrender of hoarding dogs. So, it’s no suprise she’s looking for a lap to call her own! Dawn is very cuddly and loves her belly rubs. She’s cautious about this big new world but she has already learned so much in a short time, like how to go for walks, which she’s braver with every day. Dawn loves crates and if she’s in one and sees you approaching, she wags her tail fiercely like a helicopter to show how happy she is to see you coming. Dawn has virtually no exercise needs and wants to just chill with her people from dawn ’til dusk (see what we did there). She hopes to find a low-key family who just loves being together.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
