Licorice's Story

Licorice is da SWEETEST boy. This little dude is on the smaller end of his litter. He is all about the people. When I visited him, he came over and rested his paw on my arm, quietly requesting my undivided attention and affection, which he swiftly got. He’s a lover. Licorice and his family are from Oklahoma. His mom, Taffy, was tied to a tree and she whelped 14 puppies. During a tornado, 3 of the puppies perished. Taffy and the rest survived and found refuge with a foster home.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
