It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Melanie. Mel is a 1 year old, 24 lbs, Aussie mix. She’s dainty, quick on her feet, playful, and oh so snuggly. Melanie aims to please and is extremely driven by making sure her humans are just as elated by her as she is of them. She’s great with dogs of all sizes, house trained to a doggie door, and is crate trained-ish. She’s a bed sleeper and that’s non-negotiable for her. It’s her favorite time of day/night when she can snuggle up for a tv show or in bed for the night. She will thrive in a home with a yard and another playful dog. Melanie is a bit shy with people at first and will take 24-48 hours to really settle in and feel at home. She has not been around cats, but she is chicken friendly (interested, kinda chases, but recalls with just a voice correction). She also hasn’t been around small kids.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
