Nana's Story

Hi! I’m Nana. I’ve earned my name because I’m a nanny dog. I love kids. And I love adults. If ever there was a professional snuggling degree I’d be at doctorate level. I’m REALLY good at it. My foster mom says it’s because I’m so wrinkly and sweet. I’m only 1.5 years old. I found myself at a high intake/high kill shelter because I didn’t have a home. Something had injured my eye. When the doctors removed my bad eye, they spayed me and found out I was almost a teen mom, too. Now that I’m healed from my surgery, I’m looking for my own forever family. I love to soak up as much attention as I can. So, humans that have time to spend with me would be great. I live with another dog but I’m a little selfish about attention so it’s best if my canine friends are pretty chill. One thing you should know about me is I’m a little peanut. Everyone says my pictures make me look big, but I’m not!

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
