Oh dis handsome, derpy, boy, Rip. Rip joined MHCR as a transfer from a local CO shelter. His prior owner indicated he was high percentage timber wolf, which made him unadoptable through a municipal shelter. So, we brought this guy in and ran a DNA test. Although, it didn’t take long for Rip’s foster to conclude he was many things, wolf didn’t seem to be one of them. Turns out Rip is a mix of 14 different breeds. He’s primarily composed of northern breeds but has 2% wolf and 2% Chihuahua! Go figure! Rip is very dog, human, and cat friendly. He’s goofy and sometimes does things that make us question the size of his actual brain. He’s a good boy, through and through. His foster reports he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Rip is looking for a home with a large backyard, active/social humans, and a 5 ft or taller fence (his mom can clear an 8′ fence). He’s approx 5.5 months old now. He isn’t a fan of his crate, so humans gone for extended periods of time may question their life choices for a year or two during his puppy years. You CAN, however, find him resting peacefully on your side of the bed (oh yeah, he’ll be using your pillow, too) or on your favorite couch WITH your best blanket.
