We’d like to introduce you to Rooster. Rooster is a very special boy deserving of a very special home. This guy is approx 7 months old. He and his siblings were brought into the shelter in Roswell as strays in October 2022. Their shelter photos are among some of the saddest we’ve seen. These pups were horrified. Absolutely and completely broken. At the beginning of December, they were finally split up and brought into rescue because of some very committed foster homes. Upon arrival, the pups were horrified all over again, as you can imagine. They were snapping, urinating themselves, and so so nervous and untrusting. During the following weeks, they slowly settled into their foster homes. Now, it’s time for one of them, Rooster, to find his forever home. Rooster is very much still a work in progress. He is hesitant to meet new people but continues to have very positive interactions and warm up. His forever home should have another dog or two (or three or four) that can show him the ropes of home living. He’s learned so much from his fellow canine fosters. While he loves kids, he is very mouthy when he plays, so we recommend a home without young children. He is most comfortable when his humans are chillin’ on the couch or lying on the floor. He’s always up for a good snuggle session then. Rooster’s forever humans should enjoy patient and positive socializing paired with confidence building routines like learning commands. Rooster is believed to be a pure bred German Shepherd, but, he’s very small for his age and breed at only 35-40 lbs. Rooster needs to have a home with a fenced in yard.
