Scotch's Story

Scotch is about as handsome as they come! This 3 year old, 55 lbs, cropped pittie is not only beautiful, but he’s smart too! Scotch is crate trained, dog friendly, arguably the best foot warmer in town, and so eager to please. He came to MHCR from a small, under-funded shelter in Texas and, of course, was heartworm positive. He’s finished his treatment and crate rest (retest in 6-8 months) and is ready to find his forever home.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
