September's Story

Hi my name is September and I am a 2-3 year old female Staffordshire terrier mix. I came to Mile High Canine Rescue after they saved me and my seven, three week old puppies from euthansia at a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX. I was skin and bones when I arrived after the stress of giving birth in loud and noisy the shelter. Once I was safe with my babies in my warm foster home, I spent my time eating, caring for my puppies, and cuddling with my foster family. My puppies are now 14 weeks old and almost all adopted and now I am spayed and ready to find my forever family!

I am a low energy girl who loves any couch or bed. If a human lap is available, that is my favorite place to be. I am super cuddly and sleep in my 9 year old foster daughter’s bed at night. Her pillows are super fluffy and she is great to snuggle with. If you are looking for a low energy dog who wants nothing more than hang on your couch and watch some Netflix with you, I am your girl! I am low maintenance! I am actually on my foster mom’s lap as she is typing this!

I am good on a leash and excellent in the car. I would totally be up to a hike or daily walk, but its ok if my family aren’t those kind of people. I am extremely food motivated and run straight into my crate with a snack when it is time for my foster family to leave the house. I am also housebroken and use a dog door. I know how to sit and I come when I am called. I LOVE kids and snuggle with them on the couch too. I love all people too!

I am very dog friendly and like to play with my foster dog family, but need a home without a young female dog as they can be too much for me being in my face all the time. I’d love a dog companion that is older or a more chill male to match my low energy level. But I am perfectly fine being the only dog in the home soaking up all the attention too.

I am 45lbs and kinda a low rider with shorter front legs. My foster mom says it is adorable watching me run to her because of my shorter legs. I have a medium length coat. One of my puppies got their DNA tested and the result for the mother dog came back as Staffordshire terrier mix.

If you are looking for a pretty turn key, chill dog, I am your girl!
