When Arlo first joined MHCR as a 4-month-old pup, we swore he was a Coonhound. Turns out, we were right, at least partially. Arlo is a Catahoula/Coonhound mix. We didn’t see that one coming! Unfortunately, Arlo lost his home recently due to a divorce. This handsome, 80 lbs, lap dog is now approximately 10 months old. He’s playful, vocal (like hounds can be), smart as a whip, dog AND cat friendly, and even good with kiddos. Given that Arlo’s brain fills most of his head (unlike some other dogs we’ve seen in rescue – my personal dogs included) he has a strong need to keep his mind engaged. Scent work, plenty of chew toys, food puzzles, exercise, and things of that nature are important for dogs like Arlo. Active humans and a fenced in yard are must haves, too! If you’re looking for a dog to climb mountains with by day (he’d be fine with a brewery, too) and snuggle by night, Arlo is your guy. Oh! He also requests couch privileges.
