Lilly! Sweet Lilly came all the way to the mile high from Louisiana!! This sweet girl had been sitting a small, underfunded, shelter for months and was never reclaimed. It’s an outdoor only shelter, too. Lilly suffered from horrible entropion so her poor eyes were always crusty and painful. When Lilly finally made it to CO, we quickly learned that entropion wasn’t her only issue. Lilly had heartworms, too! So, first things first, treat the pesky little worms, then fix her eyes. Check and check! She’s finished her treatment and now her eyes are all healed. That means her next stop is FOREVER! Lilly adores humans. In fact, she thinks she’s a lap dog. At 49 lbs, this can get interesting. She loves to play with toys and is extremely food motivated, she even eats her veggies! Lilly is also dog friendly, but doesn’t require a dog in her forever home. Because of the intensity of heartworm treatment, Lilly will need some help with additional socialization now that she’s been medically cleared. Lilly’s forever family should have a big backyard as she definitely enjoys her zoomie time. During Lilly’s long medical stay with MHCR, we discovered she had been hit by a car before she came to us. She has a plate on one leg and a bad hip on the other. You’d never know it by watching her run and play, but her forever humans should be able to afford pain meds as Lilly ages. Lilly is 49 lbs.
