Mike’s his name, velcro dog is his game. Mike entered MHCR in August of 2024. He came to us as an older fellow that was blind in both eyes with a bit of an attitude. A quick trip to the ophthalmologist revealed his eyes were causing him some pain and needed to come out. He quickly had them removed and it was then we saw him begin to blossom. Mike is like any other dog. He takes walks, goes for rides, snuggles, and plays with toys. He just can’t see. He doesn’t really require any special accommodations – he’s quite accustomed to living without his eyes and relies heavily on his sense of smell. Mike enjoys the foster kiddos in his foster home, but likely wouldn’t enjoy a busy, chaotic home. He’s good with other dogs after a proper intro, too! Mike’s foster mom says he’s stubborn and ridiculous and she has fallen so in love with him, she’s certain you will, too! Mike is approximately 7-8 years old and around 95 lbs. He’s a short and stocky guy!
