Some Wilburs capture hearts in storybooks. This Wilbur is hoping to capture your heart in real life. At just 1-2 years old and 15 pounds, Wilbur has already overcome more than most dogs ever should after being rescued from a hoarding situation.
These days, he is discovering that life can be full of cozy beds, kind people, and yummy treats. He is still working on learning that human hands can be a source of love instead of something to fear. If you’ve ever had a soft spot for the quiet shy ones, this little guy is sure to steal your heart.
Wilbur’s foster family says that he is the total package. He’s house-trained, free roam trustworthy when left home alone, and loves his daily walks. He’s also a smart boy who is great at settling into your routine. He is dog and cat friendly. He especially enjoys the company of other calm dogs and needs a canine companion who can help him continue building confidence.
While Wilbur is a healthy young dog, he will need daily eye drops in one eye. The good news is that he is becoming a pro at his eye drop routine. All he needs now is a patient adult-only family willing to give him the time, love, and reassurance he’s always deserved. He will be ready to go home after 6/26.
