Lucy's Story

Lovely Lucy is searching for a new home through no fault of her own. Her human family adopted her as a young pup and they’re making an international move and cannot take her with them. Lucy is 2.5 years old, 29 lbs (although she is obese and should weigh approx 21 lbs). She ADORES children, follows her human mom around from room-to-room, and has been mildly playful with the other small dog in the foster home. Lucy is low-energy, seems house and crate trained, and is trustworthy free roam. She’s looking for a quieter home with humans around often and/or another smaller dog for companionship. Weight loss is essential to Lucy’s long-term health so it’s important her new family stays committed to her goals. Lucy is skeptical of some men and doesn’t seem to enjoy large dogs.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
