Lexi's Story

Lexi is a sweet and playful pup that joined MHCR from a local CO shelter. She has adapted beautifully to life in a home since joining foster care. Lexi is around 6 months old. She enjoys wrestling and running around with her foster siblings. When she plays she uses her front paws like a boxer. Lexi sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and she’s catching on to house training very quickly! She’s a smart dog and will enjoy a home that likes to teach their canine family members cool tricks. Lexi is seeking a home with kiddos age 12 and up. She will enjoy a fenced in yard and an active family! We suspect she is a Pitbull mix, maybe some basenji. She isn’t much of a barker, either!

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
