This sweet boy is Cash! He is approximately 9-10 months old, about 60 pounds, and a pitbull mix. We are obsessed with his freckles and ears! We aren’t sure what he is mixed with but has some traits that remind us of Great Danes or labs. He was saved from a high kill shelter in Roswell, New Mexico, where he was previously picked up as a stray. Cash loves every human he has come across in rescue. He also loves to to play with other dogs and to wrestle with them. While he can be a rough and tumble player, he does try to read social cues and match energy with other dogs and is overall not dominant in his personality. Cash is not built for speed and is a rather lazy snuggler at times. It does not take much effort to wear him out, and he takes several daily naps! We tend to think of him as a hilarious, somewhat uncoordinated, clunker lap dog who does not understand the meaning of personal space 🙂. He walks well on a leash and has been a good boy for handling (though bath time is hard because he thinks tubs are scary!). He is a pretty quiet dog who is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and would be completely free roam trustworthy if it were not for occasionally picking up something inappropriate to chew on. He is still young and learning, though he is a smart, fast learner who is food motivated and eager to please. Cash would be a phenomenal addition to a variety of family types. His ideal home is with someone who will continue to work on training, obedience work, and reminding him to be aware of his strength and size. He would love another established dog in his forever home with a fenced yard, though we will consider other possibilities as well. This boy is very adaptable and versatile.
