Herbie is a sweet, attentive boy with a unique look all his own—he’s a little longer than he is tall, with adorable terrier-style scruffy hair and a charming basset hound body. His expressive face and loving personality make him impossible not to adore.
People are Herbie’s favorite thing in the world. He loves attention, enjoys being part of the family, and is happiest when he’s spending time with his humans. He’s also dog-friendly and does well with children, making him a wonderful candidate for many types of homes.
Herbie has no food aggression, is comfortable in a crate, and has good house manners. Like many dogs, he enjoys chewing on soft blankets, so he’ll appreciate having a few designated comfort items of his own. Otherwise, he’s not destructive and is a respectful house companion.
Herbie’s ideal home is one where he’ll get plenty of love, companionship, and opportunities to be part of everyday life. In return, he’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, affection, and a constant wagging tail.

Herbie sustained an injury to his hips as a young man. At his previous rescue, he had two FHOs performed (one on each hip) so that he can live pain free. He just walks a little wonky.
