Papi is a 1-year-old, West Highland Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a seriously snuggly side. This little guy doesn’t just cuddle—he commits to it, twisting himself into the closest possible position so he can be right up against his person. Once he bonds, he’s your quiet little shadow, happily following you from room to room.
He’s a calm and easy presence in the home, rarely barking and content to just be near you. Papi is crate trained, settles in well at night, and makes mornings extra special with his over-the-top happy reunions. He’s doing great with house training, with only a couple of minor accidents reported.
Out and about, Papi shows his playful side—he loves a good game of chase at the dog park and would likely enjoy a playful canine companion, especially one who can help show him the ropes. He’s respectful with smaller dogs but seems to enjoy running with the bigger crowd. Walks are still a work in progress, and he gains confidence on trails or when he has a dog buddy to follow.
Papi can be a little reserved with new people and appreciates a patient, gentle approach as he warms up. Once he trusts you, though, he’s incredibly affectionate and devoted. He’s also got a soft, nurturing streak—his favorite toy (a stuffed buffalo) goes everywhere with him, and he’s even been known to “protect” it from the sprinkler.
He’s not especially food motivated—Papi much prefers love and attention over treats—and he’s a moderate chewer who, so far, sticks to appropriate items. Oh, and socks? If you’re missing a few, Papi might just have started a collection in the yard.
Papi is a sweet, sensitive boy looking for a loving home where he can continue to build confidence, stay close to his people, and enjoy all the snuggles his heart desires. Papi is 15 lbs.
