Meet Pongo! Pongo is a labradoodle mix (we suspect) that’s looking for a home through no fault of his own. Pongo LOVES kids and to play with other dogs. He’s house trained, crate trained, and loves to snuggle once he settles in. So what gives? Why does this perfect guy need a new home? Pongo was adopted from a local CO shelter when he was only 8 weeks old. For a year and half life was grand! Unfortunately, this year, shortly after his family decorated for Christmas, Pongo had a few seizures and his family decided they didn’t want a dog with epilepsy. While Pongo was pretty confused when he first entered care, he has started to settle and no longer paces looking to the door. Pongo takes a daily medication, Phenobarbital, to control his seizures and it’s done the trick! He’s been seizure free for a month now and hasn’t had a seizure since he’s been in our care. This medication will likely be required lifelong and it is fairly inexpensive. There are many seizure medications on the market so if it stops working for him, he has options. Pongo is 1.5 years old and approx 70 lbs. I promise if you meet him you will fall in love. He is seeking a forever family with a fenced in yard.
