Sheldon (I've Already Found a Home)

Hi, I’m Sheldon. I’m a very special boy, so please read my bio carefully. I was surrendered to MHCR when I was 5-6 months old. My human couldn’t care for me any longer as I had a heart murmur and my vet thought maybe I had a PDA. So, my human made a post on FB and the good folks at MHCR came across it and offered to help. I went to see the cardiologist at CSU very quickly. After a CT of my heart, it was discovered I did NOT have a PDA. I have something called Tetralogy of Fallot. This means there’s basically 3 things wrong with my heart, none of which can be surgically corrected. Luckily, there was one surgery called pulmonary valvuloplasty that I was able to have. I just had to wait until I was a little older (I’m around 9 months now). It helped me SOOOO much! My gums and tongue are pink and not blue or purple, which means my blood is getting more oxygen. It made me feel a TON better. The docs are hopeful that the surgery will help my heart a bit, only time will tell. So, I’m looking for a family that likes a special needs guy. I love dogs. I love kids. I love playing in the yard. My forever humans should have huge hearts (like mine) and also some extra bucks bc my cardiology appts aren’t cheap! I also take daily meds but they don’t cost too much. I need air conditioning in my new home, too! It’s important that I don’t get too hot. I can’t wait to start meeting potential families!
