Toast is the kind of little guy who may need a minute to decide you’re his person—but once he does, prepare yourself for maximum cuddles. ❤️
At 1 to 2 years old and 8.5 lbs, this adorable Pom/Chi mix is shy, gentle, and sensitive at first, but he warms up quickly and absolutely loves affection once he’s comfortable. He prefers the company of small dogs and does wonderfully with respectful, gentle children.
Toast is a great little adventure buddy! He loves walks, is excellent on leash, and doesn’t care when neighborhood dogs bark at him from behind their fences. He’s also a fantastic car rider and apparently considers bath time no big deal. 🛁
And then there’s Toast’s silly side. He loves to play and will happily entertain himself in the backyard by tossing his toys into the air and catching them. Plus, he has the cutest little underbite that makes his already-adorable face even more irresistible.
He’s doing really well with housetraining as long as he’s taken out regularly. Toast is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night, although he can be a little vocal when first settling in, so a home without shared walls may be the best fit.
A few things his future family should know: Toast may initially mark, particularly around another male dog, although this stopped after a few days in his foster home. He can be pretty barky in the yard at anything passing by, so a privacy fence would likely be ideal. He also needs to be fed separately from other pets because he’s a little guardy about his food.
Toast is a sweet, funny, affectionate little guy who just needs a patient family willing to let him warm up at his own pace. Once he feels safe, you’ll discover a cuddly, playful little companion with a whole lot of personality packed into a tiny package. 🥰
