Colorado’s First Full Circle Rescue

What is a “full circle
rescue organization?

A Full Circle rescue is an organization that tackles the pet overpopulation crisis in a multi-faceted way.  MHCR understands you cannot reduce the number of dogs entering and being euthanized in shelters due to the lack of space by adoption alone.

Hank is a little Shepherd mix thats around 3.5 months old. This little dude is full of life and personality. He LOVES to play with other dogs, hes crate trained, and does very well inside of a home as long as a door is left open for him and/or hes taken out for regular potty breaks. Hank is a dogs dog. Whats that? Well, simply put, he cares all about other dogs but is pretty scared of humans. After a week in foster hes gone from urinating/thrashing if touched to seeking pets and initiating play with his foster mom while in a seated position. Hank will thrive in a multi-dog home where the dogs are very social and playful. His humans need to be patient and understand that less is more when helping Hank warm up to them. We estimate Hank will be around 50-60 lbs full grown. Hes quiet as a mouse and sleeps through the night, too! His leash training is going well, however, due to his fears of humans, hes best suited in a home with a securely fenced in yard.

Mama Marie! This little cutie is a 4 year old, 15 lbs, Chihuahua mix. She traveled all the way from Houston, TX with her pups and saw them all off safely to new homes. Now, its her turn. Marie is good with most dogs after she warms up to them, and she tolerates cats. She’s in foster with a 14 year old human kiddo and does fine, but younger kids aren’t her jam. Marie is house trained, loves car rides, and is well mannered in a home. She is a door darter so its important her humans also have a fenced in yard. Marie is spayed and has had a dental. She’s all set!

Kiki is a 1.5 year old, female, Lab/Heeler mix. She weighs around 40 lbs. Kiki is crate trained, house trained, and enjoys playing with other dogs. Due to minimal socialization during her puppyhood, Kiki gets a bit nervous around new people and especially when they enter her home. She will thrive in a home with a fenced in yard and male dog that’s great with people. This will ensure she learns to trust. A fairly quiet home without children or a lot of visitors would be ideal, however, with proper training, Kiki will come around. Kiki needs a cat free home.

Shadow is an 8 year old chihuahua mix thats around 12 lbs. Shadow earned his name shortly after arriving into CO. After a couple of days, he began following his foster mom around and she affectionately began to call him her ”little Shadow.” Shadow is dog friendly and good with cats. He’s seeking a lower energy home with another dog and people that enjoy lots of cuddle time.

Oh Jolie, you precious little girl. You stumbled and tumbled into the hearts of your foster family, in a way that only a special needs ball of wrinkles could. You are full of zest for life, sass to match, a huge amount of strength, and a never ending amount of love and kisses.
You were one of the hardest ones for your foster mom to let go of, but you found a forever family just as special as you are, and it was clear that you all were perfect for each other from the very start.
