Jovie's Story

Jovie is a 7 week old, female, pit mix. She was abandoned with her brother, Buddy, when they were just a few weeks old. They were placed in a box next do a dumpster in Aurora, CO in the middle of winter! Luckily, they were taken to the shelter by the finder and then sent to rescue. Since joining MHCR, they’ve been raised in a foster family with other dogs (for proper socialization) and human kiddos. They’re very well adjusted, sweet pups. Jovie is a professional snuggler and always looks for the nearest lap when it’s nap time.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
