Cookie's Story

Cookie is the perfect name for this little girl! She’s nothing but sweet! Cookie is a 3-ish year old, female, Shih Tzu mix. She’s dog friendly, social with humans, and she loves to ride in the car. Cookie came to MHCR from a shelter in Texas, when she and a couple housemates were surrendered due to the owners inability to care for them. Cookie has been a dream in foster care and would thrive in a home with plenty of attention and spoiling to offer her – she’s so deserving of that.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
