Nelson's Story

Meet Nelson! At just 10 weeks old, Nelson is a pint-sized pittie mix with a giant personality and an even bigger heart. This little guy is the definition of a total derp—whether he’s tripping over his own feet, discovering his tail, or giving you his signature goofy grin, Nelson keeps everyone around him laughing. Nelson absolutely adores people and believes every human he meets is his new best friend. He’s a happy, social puppy who is always ready for snuggles, playtime, and soaking up all the attention he can get. Like any young puppy, he’s learning the ropes and will need a family committed to helping him grow into the amazing adult dog he’s destined to be. If you’re looking for a fun-loving sidekick who will fill your home with laughter, cuddles, and puppy shenanigans, Nelson is your guy!

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
