Peter is 11 weeks old and is a German Shepherd mix (probably with some Ham, I mean look at how he hams up his photos). He came to MHCR with his siblings as part of a Stop The Cycle grant program MHCR has with Amarillo Panhandle Humane, wherein residents can surrender the puppies of a litter and have the mama dog spayed for free. So, here he is the Mile High in search of a forever home. Peter is curious, playful, and smart as a whip. He’s already learned to use the doggie door! We suspect, based on his mama, that he will be between 50-75 lbs.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
