Ruby the beauty queen! Ruby is a 7-month-old, 62 lbs, female, Cane Corso. She joined us as a surrender from a breeder in New Mexico that was moving on from Cane Corsos and needed to relinquish the last of their previous litter. Ruby is a very dog friendly girl and, like most corsos, she bonds hard and quickly to her humans. She’s a clumsy, goofy, playful dog that is completely unaware of her size….just a lap dog at heart. Due to her breed, we are requesting breed (or similar breed) experience. Cane Corso’s are very skeptical of new people by nature and Ruby is best suited in a home that understands that and can properly socialize her. We also request a home with only male dogs, as, long term, same sex aggression can be an issue amongst large female power breeds.

My daughter and I have been volunteering with Mile High since its beginning, mostly driving the rescue van to NM to help with transports. We connect with other rescue partners, helping these dogs get to CO and then to foster homes, vet care, and their forever homes. We get to spend time together and feel good about helping the pups.
