This handsome boy is Ryder. Ryder is a 7-8 month old, male, German Shepherd. He and his littermates were dumped at a shelter in New Mexico where they waited for over a month to find homes. It never happened. The pups grew quite fearful in the shelter and began to shut down. It was then that they made the dreaded euthanasia list. A few rescues banded together and saved them and they came to CO to decompress in foster homes. It was a rough road at first, but Ryder has settled in nicely. He’s on the small side due to being malnourished as a young pup. We suspect he will not be over 50 lbs once fully grown. Despite his mini stature, Ryder is full of personality. He enjoys outings to the local breweries, walks around the neighborhood, and snuggling up for a movie. Ryder’s ideal home will have a fenced in yard, one or two (or three) other dogs that are social and well adjusted, and older kiddos. His forever humans should be patient and enjoy spending the quality time it takes to get a young pup like him to open up.
