Scooter is a cheerful little sidekick whose favorite hobby is simply being wherever you are. Whether it’s a lazy Sunday on the couch, following you from room to room, or curling up beside you for movie night, this guy is happiest hanging with his people.
He’s a laid-back pup with a soft spot for cozy beds, comfy chairs, tasty treats, and relaxing walks. Scooter prefers dog friends closer to his size and chill vibe, but he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only. Cats? No problem. Tiny humans with lots of energy? Probably not his scene.
Scooter is still building confidence around bigger dogs, but he’s treat motivated and eager to keep learning. He’s also got a little watchdog streak — expect him to proudly announce suspicious activity like mail deliveries or rogue squirrels. 📬🐿️

When Scooter first arrived at MHCR, his foster mom quickly noticed something wasn’t right in his mouth. A visit to the vet revealed he had a massive oronasal fistula — which is a hole from his mouth leading up into his nasal cavity. It’s unclear if this was an injury or a birth defect. He underwent two surgeries to close it back up and now he’s finally breathing better and not dealing with a stuffy nose all the time. His vet was very enthusiastic about his results and had finally cleared him for a forever home!! He shouldn’t require any follow-up care for this. He’s around 4 years old and 15 lbs.
