Tempe is the epitome of perfection. At just 6 years old, he’s a scrumptious chocolate Doodle who’s impossible not to adore. He’s a total lover with both humans (all ages) and other dogs, and is fine being left alone for work, although accompanying you would be his ultimate delight. His favorite pastimes include walks and snuggles. Tempe was transferred to MHCR from a CO shelter, where he was surrendered by his owner due to a busy work schedule. Tempe battled MMM (masticatory muscle myositis) at some point in his life. MMM is an immune system disorder in which the dog’s immune system identifies the dog’s own muscle tissue as foreign and attacks it. This is limited to the muscles of the face. Tempe’s facial muscles are basically non-existent now, but his fluffy coat easily disguises this beautifully. The vet confirmed that it was excruciating for Tempe when it occurred, but thankfully, the progression has stopped now. He’s a hearty eater and can chew without issue. The only requirement for his care is a daily application of lubricating eye drops. Who wouldn’t want to shower this lovable pup with affection?
