Tootsie is a 2 yr old, 36lb bowling ball of love. She assumes every person and animal she meets is her new best friend. Everywhere she goes, she’s the star of the show with her enthusiastic personality. Even at the vet, she’s is cheerful and making friends.
In spite of being bred and discarded by her former owners, her spirit has not wavered. Since being in rescue, Tootsie got a much deserved spay, a soft palate reduction to help her breathe better, and treatment for some out of control skin allergies. She will likely require ongoing support for her allergies but it’s difficult to say until she’s fully healed and acclimated to Colorado.
Tootsie is kennel trained, perfectly house trained, and is currently in foster with cats and dogs. She does not have any behavioral issues other than occasionally jumping up on people for kisses. She knows sit, and is pretty tuned in to what you want from her.
Tootsie would probably be happiest in a home with another dog, ideally one who is bigger than her since she’s unaware that she’s a sentient cement gargoyle. She is in foster with cats who she largely ignores. Older children would probably be best for Tootsie since she can be a little mouthy with her play, and is working on not jumping up on people. She has a lot of energy, but not a lot of stamina due to her breed, so Tootsie will not be a hiking companion or a running buddy, but she does love toys and short zoomies in the back yard.
Tootsie will be a loyal and loving companion who will integrate well with people and other pets. She does have some allergies that require allergy medication.
